In the ancient era Bodrum was known as Halicarnassus. The Mausoleum, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, was built in Halicarnassus city. The marble stones of the mausoleum which was demolished in time have been used in the construction of Bodrum Castle. The Castle today has become the second Biggest Underwater Archeology Museum.
